Read our Transparency Act report 2023

Conducting our business sustainably and responsibly is important to us. In June, we published our second Transparency Act report to give a status on how we are performing in our own operations and our supply chain.

Working on all aspects of ESG

Providing sustainable electric mobility, we contribute significantly to address the challenges imposed by the climate change and create a basis for sustainable economic development. Sustainability, however, covers much more than the environmental part and we continuously also work on the other aspects of ESG (environmental, social and governance).

Since 2022, large Norwegian companies, including Mer, are covered by the Transparency Act. The purpose of the law is to promote businesses’ respect for human rights and decent working conditions in their own operations, but also with their suppliers and business partners.

“We have performed a risk mapping of our supply chain for our first Transparency Act report in 2023 and are since continuously working on implementing risk mitigation actions in selected high-risk categories. This includes improving our prequalification capabilities and contract standards, and establishing a close supplier dialogue during the contact life cycle to build the basis for continuous improvements on ESG topics,” says Larissa Leuenberger, head of procurement in Mer.

Our Transparency Act report for 2023 was published on 18 June 2024. It sets out the steps of how we will continue to assess, prevent, and mitigate the risks of adverse impacts on human rights and decent working conditions in our business operations, supply chains and other business relationships.

Why sustainability is existential to us in Mer

Sustainable and responsible business practices are strategically important to us in Mer, as we continue to accelerate the EV transition in Europe. To be truly sustainable, we have set ourselves high standards and work continuously to include all the aspects of ESG. To ensure this extends to our supply chain, we strive to partner with suppliers that share our sustainability ambitions and who continuously want to work with us to improve and help us take responsibility for our impact.
