Partnership: Mer to Add 1,800+ EV Charging Points in 2025

Mer has signed several major partnership agreements with prominent retail chains through 2024, with Coop Norge SA being the latest signing. These agreements contribute to making 2025 a record year for the company in terms of the number of planned charging station build outs.

Driving Growth in EV Charging Infrastructure

Today, Mer has a total of over 10,000 publicly available charging points in Europe. In total, the company will build over 6,000 new charging points over the next four years, with 1,800 planned already for 2025. Nearly 50% of next year’s expansion is secured through partner agreements.

Our partnership strategy ensures that we increase the charging network in our priority markets in Europe at attractive locations where people have charging needs. In total, the company now has agreements with over 10 partners. In 2024, a focus on retail chains has yielded results, and the portfolio now includes companies such as IKEA, Dennree and MPREIS. The latest signing is a renewal and extension with Coop Norway SA.

Coop Partnership: A Key Milestone

Mer and Coop Norway SA recently signed an extended and renewed partnership agreement that ensures the construction of a minimum of 215 new charging points across 37 locations in Norway in 2025, increasing the number of chargers by over 50%. Mer will also upgrade several of the existing charging locations with faster chargers.

“We are excited to renew and extend our cooperation with Coop Norway SA, one of our most important strategic partners. With this agreement, we can increase the number of new charging stations and upgrade several with higher charging speed,” says Nicholai Sheridan Jørgensen, Managing Director of Mer Norway.

Enhancing Convenience for EV Drivers Across Europe

Mer’s partner strategy extends beyond building charging stations. It is also an important goal to create good benefits for mutual customers.
