The mission of Procurement in Mer is to secure the supply of high-quality products and services, bring innovation and sustainability to our business through the supply chain and to control cost.
To strengthen our organization further, we are seeking a hands-on and self-driven procurement professional to take on the role as Category Manager IT & Technology. The quality and innovativeness of our IT solutions are what sets us apart from our competition, and all sourcing related activities in this category must be optimized to ensure our competitive edge. The category is organized as a global category, covering all geographies in Mer.
The right person will understand Mer’s business priorities and how they can be achieved through IT services. We are looking for someone with a strong background in procurement and IT & Technology, with experience in negotiating contracts and managing existing suppliers. The right individual has a good understanding of the supply market dynamics in IT & Technology related to the EV business.
Your role
- Continuous tracking of supply market developments as a basis for procurement strategies. Focus on supplier market for CPO platform, ERP/CRM system, Infrastructure & Cloud and EV Technology
- Gather and assess business needs within IT & Technology category in close collaboration with IT department to ensure that procurements of goods and services are in accordance with the group’s IT strategy and governance model
- Develop sourcing strategies based on market situation, Mer’s buying power and requirements from internal stakeholders
- Lead and perform procurement processes and ensure that contracts meet the organization’s requirements in terms of cost, quality, and risk.
- Supplier Prequalification
- Tender management
- Contract negotiations, award, and implementation
- Contract management: Ensure that contracts are regularly reviewed and renewed to align with changing business needs and market conditions.
- Supplier relationship management: Daily follow up of suppliers as well as strategic supplier relationship management with the goal to increase Mer’s competitive power
- Assume responsibility for sustainability goals relating to the IT supply chain incl. assessment of sustainability risks and implementation of mitigation strategies
- Contribute to establishing best practices category management methodology.
- Report category progress and results against commercial and sustainability objectives.

Competence requirements
- Demonstrable experience 3-5 years from working within IT Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Experience in working with SaaS solutions and the connected license models and cloud providers and their partners is an advantage
- Experience in negotiations and claims management
- An excellent communicator with fluency in English, both written and spoken. Additional languages are an advantage.
- Relevant education within business and/or technology.
