A natural next step for both Mer and the UK business

The sale follows a thorough and competitive process, resulting in the business being acquired by members of its existing management team. A management buyout allows the company to continue building on its strong foundation, with leadership that knows the business, its customers and its operations in depth.

For Mer, the divestment reflects a clear strategic direction, focusing on its role as a pure public charge point operator in Norway, Sweden, Germany and Austria.

We are proud of the progress Mer Fleet Services Ltd has made in recent years. We believe this transaction positions the business well for its next phase and we wish all the best for the future, says Kristoffer Thoner, CEO of Mer.

Strong continuity under new ownership

Mer Fleet Services Ltd will continue under new ownership, led by some of its existing leadership team. This ensures continuity for customers and partners, while also enabling the business to operate with greater flexibility as an independent company.

The new leadership structure includes:

  • Paul Winchester, Chief Executive Officer
  • Natasha Fry, Chief Commercial Officer
  • Jane Crosby, Chief Financial Officer
  • Louise Gillingham, Chief Operating Officer

– This is an important milestone for the business. With strong foundations in place, we are well positioned to continue delivering for customers and partners as we build on that momentum, says Paul Winchester, CEO of Mer Fleet Services Ltd.

Business as usual for customers and partners

Customers and partners can expect continuity, with no disruption to ongoing operations, contracts or service delivery.

To support a smooth transition, a Transitional Services Agreement is in place for a defined period, ensuring that key services, systems and processes continue seamlessly as the business establishes itself further as a standalone organisation.

Over time, the company will continue to invest in its technology, services and overall offering, while gradually introducing updates such as branding and digital channels to reflect its new ownership structure.
